Our Completed Projects

We address a variety of issues in the areas of design development and test/homologation services.

Various tests for vehicles equipped with ADASand functional evaluations

What led to the introduction of the service?

One of our customers had the following problem:
In developing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), they had to conduct various tests such as Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). However, they did not have any knowledge of functional evaluation of ADAS in-house, so they sought a company that could support them in testing. In accordance with the prescribed testing method, they wanted to evaluate the starting position of the ADAS after obtaining the position information of the vehicle itself. In addition, they were required to conduct a functional evaluation in accordance with the New Car Assessment Programs (NCAPs) of multiple countries around the world and the Japan New Car Assessment Programme (JNCAP).

Issues before introduction

Although they have sufficient development resources, they do not have the know-how nor facilities, such as chassis dynamometers, to conduct functional evaluations of driving on public roads. Another issue was that they had no experience in conducting evaluations in accordance with NCAPs or the JNCAP before.

Examples of use after introduction

They asked Persol Research & Development to make arrangements for the test content, and they conducted the evaluation of the ADAS in accordance with NCAPs and the JNCAP. In addition to newly developed ADAS, they have also been successful in carrying out functional evaluations of vehicles equipped with ADAS developed by other companies.

Effectiveness and achieved results

Real-Time Kinematic positioning (RTK) allowed them to accurately measure the behavior of the vehicle itself. They were able to obtain the knowledge and evaluation methods necessary for the development of an ADAS, as well as support for conducting tests.
